About

James A. Hunter

James A. Hunter

Hey all, my name is James Hunter and I’m a writer, among other things. So just a little about me: I’m a former Marine Corps Sergeant, combat veteran, and pirate hunter (seriously). I’m also a member of The Royal Order of the Shellback—’cause that’s a real thing. I’ve also been a missionary and international aid worker in Bangkok, Thailand. And, a space-ship captain, can’t forget that.

Okay … the last one is only in my imagination.

Currently, I’m a stay at home Dad—taking care of my two kids—while also writing full time, making up absurd stories that I hope people will continue to buy. When I’m not working, writing, or spending time with family, I occasionally eat and sleep.

  1. Viridian Gate Online: Cataclysm ….just wow. My only regret is that I did not know of your works before simply stumbling on this work. Fantastic job. Kudos to the editing.

  2. When’s the next Virdian Gate novel coming out? Loved what I’ve read so far Fan # 2!

  3. Just finished the third book. It was great. I certainly hope you’re started on the next one!

    1. You’re the best Amber. It might be a bit before book 4 comes out. Right now the line-up is Brimstone Blues (Lazarus 5), followed by a VGO spinoff (sort of), followed by VGO 4. Thanks for reading!

  4. Hi,

Just finished listening to the audiobook for VGO Cataclysm and loved it! Will there be audiobooks for the rest of the series too (please say yes) and if so when will they be out?

    Thanks!
    Arthur

    1. Thanks for reading Arthur. And yes, the other books will be made into Audio–the narrator, Armen Taylor, is just about finished with book 2 now.

  5. I’m in the middle of reading the latest novel in the Yancy Lazarus series. I have to say I’ve liked them a lot and I think they’re both well written and well edited. Congratulations on not having common spelling errors I find in a lot of self-published novels, such as “phased” instead of “fazed”, one of my pet peeves. Mostly, though, I have to commend you for coming up with a great recurring character in the urban fantasy genre that keeps me highly entertained. Keep writing more Yancy Lazarus stories, please. I’ll continue to read them. The whole point of urban fantasy novels, for me, is the kind of entertainment that takes me into the world of imagination. In other words, they are fun reading and I think most people could use a little fun now and then. Yancy Lazarus stories are just that, lots of fun even for people as old as I am.
